Watch Your Step When You are At the Poles Otherwise You Might Fall Into a Hole!


  • The pole is icy and cold and windy. 
  • The ice is so slippery that you could fall.
  • It is mountainous with clouds covering the peaks.
  • It’s isolated and far away from anywhere that is warm.
  • The pole is rugged with holes in the ground and you can’t see the holes because it’s covered with snow.         

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a description.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write six descriptive sentences to describe the poles using appropriate adjectives and record it using Screencastify.

Nothing lives on the moon because there is no oxygen!



  • The moon is isolated and its far away from the earth.
  • It is weightless because it has no gravity.
  • The moon is quiet and empty because nothing lives there.
  • Its grey and rugged because the moon has deep holes in the ground.
  • There are some deep holes but also shallow holes.
  • Sometimes  the moon can be yellow, red or white. 


Learning Intention: We are learning to write a description.
