This is a Litany to Saint Mark!


Almighty God, who by the hand of Mark the evangelist have given to your Church the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God: We thank you for this witness, and pray that we may be firmly grounded in its truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Learning Intention: We are learning to develop our understanding of how we can honour the Saints.

Saint Matthew prayed to God and spread the Good News!




  • He inspired us by helping other people and spreading the Good News.
  • Preaching the word of God helped Saint Matthew to become a Saint.
  • I think being a saint would be hard because you would have to help a lot of people and stay faithful.
  • Saint Matthew was a tax collector and he was also called a publican.
  • Saint Matthew was one of Jesus’ 12 disciples and the writer of the gospel Matthew.
